Graphing

For this project students each got a one inch by one inch piece of paper that made a larger picture.  They proceeded to take these small pieces of paper and blow them up to a 9X9in larger piece.  They used a graph to break each piece into more manageable pieces and also to make their enlarged pictures as accurate as possible.  Check below for each classes finished pieces!

Radial Designs

Students combined math and art for this project in order to create a image/design that looked unending.  This is achieved through mirroring a image in a circle.  Take a look and be amazed!

Altered Books

For this projects students saved books that were going to be disposed of and turned them into interactive 3D art pieces.  Students tore out, added in, carved into, glued things onto, and even painted many different parts of their book... both inside and out!  Look below for some great pictures of some of these amazing books.

There are over 200 pictures in this gallery, multiple pictures for each book!

Styrofoam Printmaking

Here the students took a piece of Styrofoam and carved into it to create a printing plate. with these printing plates students took a few days to print their plate as many times as they could! here are there efforts.

Muppet Puppets and Drawings

For this project students learned about Jim Henson and his journey through creating the muppets, his inspiration, and much more.  Using this information students designed their won anthropomorphic person.  They started with idea, moved to 2D drawing, then finally to 3D representation as a puppet. Take a look below!

First Class Wooden Sculptures

Students goal was to create a sculpture working with their group and ONLY using the pieces they chose.  Very creative!!
