![]() The students have been hard at work. They have been balancing working on two projects simultaneously. While working on finishing of their Greek God or Goddess Portraits they were also putting the finishing touches on their Brain Bowls. Each student created multiple brain bowls, and the extra(s) were donated to the art department. The donations will help during a fund raiser later on this school year. Students are working hard at finishing off their newest project, watercolor self portraits of themselves as a chosen Greek god or goddess. Students viewed this Prezi and took off from there. Check back soon in the Art Gallery 2013-14 tab for finished pictures! ![]() The winners of the Grand Rapids Art Prize were finaly announced. The winner of the public vote was a painting by Ann Loveless’ titled “Sleeping Bear Dunes Lakeshore” (pictured to the left), the cash prize for this was $200,000. Carlos Bunga’s “Ecosystem” at the SITE:LAB was the winner of the $100,000 Juried Grand Prize, and other winners of the public vote included “Polar Expressed” by Anni Crouter, and “UPlifting” by Andy Sacksteder. They received $75,000 and $50,000. ![]() Cant get enough art during the weekdays? Then try getting a dose of S.M.ART! This is a great Saturday morning art program put on by the art education department of MSU. Some of your fantastic and talented students here at WMS are currently attending, and you could join them! WMS art departmentOur goal is to help any students become enthusiasts about art and it's related topics! no need to be nervous, whether you are a extremely talented artist, or someone who is interested but not to confident about your ability's, there is a place here for you. We do lots of different projects in class, and learn about famous artists like Chuck Close, Banksy, Dr. Seuss, and many more.
